Constitution
Article I - Name of Club
This organization shall be called: the "Los Alamos Photography Club" or "LAPC". The LAPC is formally associated with The Art Center at Fuller Lodge, Los Alamos, NM.
Article II - Purpose
- Section 1. To stimulate interest in the art and craft of photography within the Los Alamos and Northern New Mexico region.
- Section 2. To provide an opportunity for photographers to meet and exchange ideas and information.
- Section 3. To encourage members to develop photographic skills.
- Section 4. To exhibit and publicize the work of members.
Article III - Membership
- Section 1. Membership is open to anyone interested in the art and science of photography on payment of annual dues.
- Section 2. Membership is not based on sex, race, age, creed, or any other discriminative factors.
- Section 3. Any member in good standing shall have the right to vote at any general meeting of the LAPC.
- Section 4. Membership of any person may be suspended or terminated, when sufficient reasons exist, by at least a 2/3 vote of the Executive Committee. The member in question shall have the right to appeal, in which case, the action of the Executive Committee can be overridden by a majority vote of those attending a general meeting of the LAPC.
Article IV - Executive Committee
- Section 1. The LAPC Executive Committee shall consist of four officers, elected in accordance with the provisions of the Bylaws:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Section 2. The Executive Committee shall have general charge of policy, management, and finances of the LAPC.
- Section 3. The Executive Committee shall be vested with all properties of the LAPC and shall appropriate such sums as may be deemed advisable, within its current resources, for the interests of the LAPC.
- Section 4. The Executive Committee shall fill vacancies in any elective office of the LAPC by a majority vote at any meeting of this committee; the persons so appointed shall hold office until the next general election.
- Section 5. The Executive Committee shall designate depositories in which the LAPC's funds shall be kept.
- Section 6. The Executive Committee shall enforce the authority given to it under this constitution and bylaws.
- Section 7. The Executive Committee shall take any action necessary to conserve the best interests of the LAPC.
Article V - Representatives
The needs of the membership will be represented by the Executive Officers.
Article VI - Amendments to the Constitution.
Amendments to the Constitution may be proposed to the LAPC by any member in good standing for consideration during any general meeting. A formal amendment will be presented to the membership at least three (3) weeks but not longer than nine (9) weeks prior to a vote being taken. The vote will be held at a general LAPC meeting when a quorum is present. The amendment will pass if 2/3 of the members attending give their approval.
